THERE has been a red hot response to Cronulla's new ice age.
In a first, Sutherland Shire Council set up an ice skating rink in Cronulla Plaza for the school holidays.
Cronulla on Ice has generated a lot of interest as Nevada Buckley-Ash, 4, shows (pictured left).
"We've sold almost 7000 tickets so far, so it's been a great success," a Sutherland Shire Council spokeswoman said.
"It's been really popular with families during the day.
"We've seen a few groups of ladies who have come to Cronulla for dinner and then had fun strapping on some skates together.
"There are some tickets left but you do need to book ahead."
The skating rink will operate until Sunday, July 13.
There is always plenty to do in Cronulla in the school holidays.
The Gymbus was parked at Cronulla last week while Cronulla Cinemas is popular in the school holidays.
