After over 20 years of a noticeable absence on the shores of Australia, today Madonna has finally made an exciting appearance in Sydney being welcome by fans at the iconic Opera House in the form of not one, but three wax figures, en route to Madame Tussauds.
The three styles of the legendary superstar represent Madonna from her most recent ‘MDNA’ tour, her ‘Sticky and Sweet’ tour as well as her infamous ‘Like a Virgin’ look that fans around the world know and love. Famous for her ever-changing style, the newest wax incarnation is inspired by her latest ‘MDNA’ tour and shows her in a dramatic performance pose wearing a fitted pinstriped trouser suit with a striking black metallic leather corset.
The second figure portrays Madonna at the outset of her meteoric rise to fame in her 1984 MTV ‘Like a Virgin’ grungy bridal outfit and the third shows her in the knee high black boots, black satin jacket, fingerless gloves and cane from her ‘Sticky and Sweet’ tour.
“This is a first time we have ever launched three different figures of one female performer here at Madame Tussauds, so it’s a very special event,” said Quinn Clarke, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Sydney. “We are very lucky to be able to bring together these three extremely striking portrayals of one of the most influential and iconic contemporary music artists of all time and we know fans are going to relish the opportunity to meet not one but three Madonnas.
The Madonna figures will be with us only for a limited time - until October 2014 - so those who want to see her in triplicate should make plans to do so now!!
The figures will be joining an iconic cast of female performers at Madame Tussauds including Rihanna, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Kylie Minogue, all of whom would have no doubt been inspired by the Queen of Pop and her iconic career.
