Event Details: Creedence Clearwater

Musically speaking the music of the 70's and 80's was dominated by Californian bands The Eages and Creedence Clearwater: The Eagles were fairly recent visitors to our shores and now Creedence Clearwater is about to return for a 5 concert tour of Australia during October 2010.

Creedence Clearwater 2010 includes original (members), rock 'n' roll 'Hall of Fame' rhythm section Stu Cook (bass & vocals) and Doug 'Cosmo' Clifford (drums/vocals) one of the most celebrated bass-drum duos of the rock era, with Taj Morris ('killer' guitar), Steve Gunner (keyboards/guitar) and the incredible John Tristao* on lead vocals who maintains the original unique sound and integrity of that unmistakeable 'swamp music' quality of CCR.

* John Fogerty departed the band more than 30 years ago in 1973.

During their halcyon domination of the charts Creedence Clearwater notched up no fewer than sixteen Top 40 hit singles (most of them Top 10) including classics 'Heard It Through The Grapevine', 'Proud Mary', 'Travellin' Band', 'Bad Moon Rising', 'Green River', 'Lookin' Out My Back Door', 'Down On The Corner', 'Up Around The Bend', "Sweet Hitchhiker' and 'Have You Ever Seen The Rain' amongst them.

'Joel Whitburn's Top Pop Artists & Singles' describes the band as 'one of the most successful American rock bands ever' while Rolling Stone rates Creedence as 'probably the greatest American singles band'.

There's probably never been a rock and roll cover band that hasn't knocked out at least a few CCR tunes, Stu Cook (bass/vocals) offers,'I think that's part of why the music has had such great 'legs' because radio still pumps our hits and because there are still bands out there playing it every night'.
