Oprah Winfrey and 300 of her friends may well deliver the Opera House’s it’s biggest audience yet after Oprah sprung the surprise trip to Australia on her live audience.
Tourism Australia is believed to have been working on the marketing coupe for over a year and Oprah will film one of her shows in at Sydney Opera House as part of her eight day trip round the country.
Dubbed “Oprah’s Ultimate Australian Adventure”, the trip has been organised to mark the beginning of Oprah’s 25th season.
Oprah told her audience
"I started to think about where would I most want to go. Maybe I should take all of you with me to the other side of the world…We're going to Australia! We are going to Australia! You and you and you and you, are going to Australia!"
And if that wasn’t enough marketing for Australia, Qantas also got in on the act as Qantas plane was rolled on the stage and the captain for the trip, none other than John Travolta, alighted.
Forget advertising campaigns, this is marketing gold!
