Virgin Blue Group will offer business class for the first time for passengers travelling between Sydney and Perth when two new Airbus 330 aircraft start operation in May. The aircraft will provide three services a day from June.
Virgin has also announced it will introduce up to 18 fuel efficient ATR72 turboprop aircraft as part of its alliance with Sky West airlines. The first four of the 68-seater aonircraft will be introduced from the middle of this year, with a further four to arrive in 2012.
The alliance will also see both airlines codeshare on a number of sectors and allow Velocity members to earn and redeem points.
