Sydney Suits China Perfectly

Reinforcing itself as Australia’s business destination, Sydney has successfully secured one of the largest business events from China, The Perfect China Leadership Seminar 2013.

Minister for Tourism and Major Events, George Souris expects that the seminar alone will inject A$21 million into the NSW economy.

“We are thrilled that Perfect (China) has selected the Harbour City as its leadership seminar destination,” Mr Souris said.
“Sydney has a strong reputation for delivering top quality corporate meetings and incentives that inspire and motivate staff.”

Sydney has during this financial year secured 30 corporate events from Asia worth around A$88million in economic impact for NSW.

The perfect China leadership seminar will bring over 3,500 Perfect China staff to Sydney next year. “This event is another major opportunity for us to showcase that not only is Sydney a fantastic tourist destination, it is also a leading global business events destination,” the Minister said.

“Business events will play a key role in the government achieving its objective to double tourism expenditure in NSW by 2020.”

Business Events Sydney (BESydney) chief executive officer Lyn Lewis-Smith said that together with Destination NSW they worked hard to secure the seminar for Sydney.

“Sydney continues to be an extremely attractive destination for Asian leadership and reward
Programs,” Ms Lewis-Smith said.

“I credit this to the hard-work of our Asia team, our proven track-record with events such as the Amway China Leadership Seminars in 2005 and 2011, and the city’s spectacular  mix of culture, cuisine, natural beauty, shopping and unique Australian experiences”.
