The NSW Minister for Tourism, Major Events and the Arts George Souris, this week announced the latest in a long line of major event wins for Sydney. Sydney will stage exclusively the Paris Opera Ballet’s production of Giselle.

Standing alongside dancers Mathias Heymann and Eve Grinsztajn of Paris Opera Ballet, Minister Souris said the event will take place from 29 January to 9 February 2013 and would include 13 performances at the Capitol Theatre.

“This is a unique opportunity to see one of the best known and respected ballet companies present the world’s most popular and performed ballet.

“We expect that around 24,000 tickets will be sold for this production with around 3,000 interstate and overseas visitors travelling to experience the world famous ballet company, injecting more than $3.5 million in direct spend into the NSW economy,” he said.
