Bledisloe Cup - Qantas Wallabies v All Blacks

Bledisloe Cup - it's Australia v New Zealand sporting rivalry at its best.

At 8pm this Saturday (18 August), more than 70,000 fans will pack into ANZ Stadium at Sydney Olympic Park to watch the Qantas Wallabies begin their quest to break a 10-year Cup drought against the All Blacks.

Following their 1999 World Cup triumph, the Wallabies have been the All Blacks’ bridesmaids time and time again.

After world rankings were introduced in 2003, the All Blacks have held the no. 1 Test ranking for a majority of the time with the Wallabies currently at no. 2.

All this could change come Saturday.

Victory for the Wallabies will hinge on their ability to get quick, early ball to in-form halves Berrick Barnes and 'X factor' Will Genia.

Genia has the blistering pace and natural ability to unsettle the All Blacks' rhythm while five-eighth Barnes is in scintillating form, claiming the last two man-of-the-match awards in a Wallabies jumper.

They will have their hands full with rampaging centre Sonny Bill Williams who is eager to add another Bledisloe Cup to his list of achievements, before he embarks on a stint with Japanese side Panasonic and eventually returning to rugby league in 2013.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early (Gates Open at 6pm) to soak up the festival atmosphere in the Sydney Olympic Park precinct, where food stalls, bars, live entertainment and rugby promotions will be set up.
  1. 6pm - Gates open

TRAFFIC

PARKING

With the large crowd expected and another event in the precinct, fans who have not pre-booked parking should not drive and take advantage of the extra direct train and bus services included in all Bledisloe Cup event tickets.

Those driving should allow plenty of time to get to Sydney Olympic Park, find a parking space and get to their seat for the game.
