Woollahra Festival 2012 - Sydney Tourism News

Woollahra Festival returns for 2012 and its third year, Thursday 15th to Sunday 18th November, presenting a fantastic four days of art and entertainment!

Woollahra Festival is a cutting edge ideas program with some of Sydney's leading minds combined with a head-turning line-up of musicians, performance artists and comedians.

With a festival backbone strongly rooted in the concept of community and held in an intimate and attractive festival precinct in Queen St Woollahra, this three day event is that kind of festival that breaks the mold and ignites the senses.

In the language of the Gadigal people, this land's traditional owners, Woollahra means 'meeting place'. The Woollahra Festival hopes to live up to this name and establish an annual meet up of the minds, located right in the heart of the Queen Street Village.

The Woollahra Festival grew from a desire among key figures in the local Queen Street community to celebrate this unique precinct as a creative and intellectual hub, and to welcome all Sydneysiders to share in this vibrant village atmosphere.

Drawing on the immense talent among the residents of Woollahra and the greater Wentworth area the festival presents a stimulating talks program coupled with a lively and varied line-up of the best music, comedy and entertainment from across Sydney.

The 2012 festival program is broad and varied, with engaging and topical debates with some of Sydney's leading thinkers, and talks with the hottest young chefs in town, to burlesque stilt walkers and impromptu marching bands and much more. And best of all, most events are FREE.
